A harrowing incident unfolded in Rator village, Naraingarh town in Ambala, Haryana, as an ex-serviceman shockingly killed six members of his own family, as reported by the police on Monday. The victims of this tragic event include the accused’s mother, Saroopi Devi (65), brother Harish Kumar (35), sister-in-law Sonia (32), a nephew Mayank (6 months) and two nieces Pari (7) and Yashika (5).
According to the authorities, ex-serviceman Bhushan Kumar brutally attacked his family members with an axe while they were asleep, over an alleged land dispute based on initial investigations. After committing the gruesome act, he attempted to burn the bodies within their home. One critically injured niece was swiftly moved to PGIMER Chandigarh, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
During the horrific incident, the father of the accused, Om Prakash, bravely intervened to protect his family, resulting in injuries. Despite his efforts, he managed to alert neighbors before seeking medical attention at Naraingarh Civil Hospital. The Naraingarh SHO, Inspector Rampal, confirmed the tragic loss of six lives in the incident and detailed ongoing efforts to apprehend the accused, who reportedly fled the site post-incident. As investigations progress, close associates of the accused have been interrogated, and police teams are actively pursuing leads in multiple locations.
