The July Weather Report for Delhi-NCR commenced with heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning, offering a welcome reprieve from the stifling heat and humidity that has enveloped the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has highlighted the significance of the downpour by issuing a ‘yellow alert’ for the national capital and its neighboring areas, indicative of the likelihood of further showers throughout the day. A ‘yellow alert’ implies the expectation of substantial rainfall ranging from 6 cm to 11 cm.
According to the IMD forecast, the temperatures are anticipated to range between a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The regions covered in the weather forecast include prominent areas such as Delhi University, Civil Lines, Kashmiri Gate, Seelampur, Shahadra, Vivek Vihar, Patel Nagar, Red Fort, Preet Vihar, Budha Jayanti Park, and President House.
Moreover, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital registered a commendable reading of 40, positioning it within the “good” category as per the data provided by the Central Pollution Control Board.
In addition to the weather conditions in Delhi-NCR, the IMD has also foretold heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra on July 24. Meanwhile, Rajasthan is poised to endure hot and humid weather conditions until the following day.
Looking towards northeastern India, the IMD’s weather bulletin anticipates “fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall” over the next five days.
In Himachal Pradesh, a ‘yellow’ warning for heavy rains at isolated locations has been communicated, extending up to July 27. Chandigarh and Punjab, on the other hand, are expected to witness “above normal” temperatures coupled with heightened humidity levels over the upcoming two days.
Furthermore, the meteorological forecast sheds light on the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in various regions of north and south Odisha for the next couple of days, with the pattern anticipated to continue on July 25 and 26.
The weather predictions for July 24 to 25 in the North Goa and South Goa regions hint at the prospect of encountering heavy to very heavy rainfall, underscoring the need for residents and authorities to remain vigilant and prepared for potential adverse weather conditions in the coming days.
The July Weather Report showcases a dynamic and fluctuating meteorological landscape, emphasizing the importance of staying informed and exercising caution in the face of shifting weather patterns and potential disruptions caused by heavy rainfall and associated weather phenomena.
