Delhi Police Issue Traffic Restrictions for Weekend Events

The Delhi Police have issued a traffic advisory for several areas of the city due to the Run for Inclusion event organized by Special Olympics Bharat and a cycling event scheduled as part of the 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship. The events will result in traffic restrictions and diversions in multiple locations, effective from Saturday through Tuesday.

Run for Inclusion: Key Traffic Restrictions

The Run for Inclusion event, which will include people with and without intellectual disabilities, is scheduled for Saturday from 7 AM to 10 AM. The run will start and end at the Civil Services/NDMC Officers’ Club, following a route along Panchsheel Marg, Vinay Marg, Niti Marg, and Satya Marg.

  • No Traffic on Panchsheel Marg: Vehicles will not be allowed on Panchsheel Marg towards the Niti-Panchsheel Marg roundabout.
  • Allowed Routes: Traffic will continue on Satya Marg towards the Niti-Satya Marg roundabout and Africa Avenue towards Yaswant Palace.
  • Alternative Routes: Drivers are advised to use Kautilya Marg and Shanti Path to avoid the affected areas.

Cycling Event Restrictions in Rohini: Saturday to Tuesday

From Saturday through Tuesday, traffic will also be impacted in Rohini Sector-29 due to the cycling events associated with the athletic championship. Special arrangements and diversions have been implemented to manage the flow.

  • No Parking Zones: Tuglak Road (Khera Kurd Cut to CNG Pump, Sector-27) and Dr. B. R Ambedkar Marg (from Mahadev Chowk up to T-Point Tuglak Road) are no-parking zones. Illegally parked cars will be towed and temporarily relocated near Utsav Marg by the CNG Pump.

Roads and Routes Blocked for Events

The following roads will be fully or partially closed to traffic:

  • Utsav Marg connecting with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Marg.
  • Khera Khurd Road connecting with Tuglak Road.
  • Khera Kalan Road connecting with Tuglak Road.
  • Tuglak Road near CNG Pump, Sector-27, Rohini
  • Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Marg near Mahadev Chowk and Gate No. 1, Sector-28, Rohini.
  • Connecting Cuts and Roads from Khera Khurd Road to CNG Pump and from Mahadev Chowk to T-Point Tuglak Road.

Diversion Points for Affected Routes

Motorists should take note of the following diversion points to navigate the closures:

  • Mahadev Chowk
  • Khera Khurd Yamuna Canal
  • Khera Kalan Yamuna Canal
  • CNG Pump, Sector-27, Rohini

Routes to Avoid

  • Tuglak Road from Khera Kurd Cut to CNG Pump, Sector-27, Rohini.
  • Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Marg from Mahadev Chowk to T-Point Tuglak Road.
  • Sector-27 to Khera Kalan Road

Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes, expect delays, and follow updates from Delhi Police regarding traffic conditions during the events.
