India’s ambitious plans to expand its defense capabilities also include overcoming delays in the production of Tejas aircraft. Singh noted that if 24 aircraft are produced annually, it would adequately meet the Air Force’s needs.

He reiterated the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Make in India initiatives in building a strong defense force. “We are on the right track, and with each new indigenous system we develop, we are becoming more independent and capable of responding to any threat, particularly from adversaries like China,” Singh said.
